An Amazing Gift
Tonight Lora and I visited a church in Brantley, Alabama and made a presentation about the Family Care Center. We are busy now raising funds for the project. After our presentation was over a three-year-old named Wade went to Lora and gave her a dollar. Then he came to me and gave me one as well. When I asked him what it was for he said, "I want to help those babies!" Wade was just given one of those dollars today by a man in his church. I stand humbled by such a gift and can only imagine what God will do with such a great sacrifice. I feel like I am part of Jesus' story with the poor widow who gave her all. It is amazing to be part of such a holy moment.

Family Care Center Update
Work continues at the Family Care Center. The two four bedroom apartments are dried in and tile is being installed in the bathrooms. They are located on the second floor of the garage wing. On the first floor of that wing the garage door has been moved to the other side of the building giving us a nice interior courtyard and a great exterior entrance to the garage. The first floor apartment will be five bedrooms and two baths and the bedrooms are being framed out currently.
Most of the focus currently is on the exterior boiler room which will house the heating tanks for both hot water and the heating system. In the other wing lots of brick laying and window installation is going on currently. We are in the last two months of warm weather and have to get some projects completed before winter sets in. Igor and crew are making great progress in that direction.

Garden in Bloom
Recently Ira Grabko sent us these photos of the garden we built in the late spring. It is really doing well and all the neighbors are working hard to keep it free from weeds. It has really been effective in creating a new sense of community among the people in our building. It even succeeded in creating friendship with some neighbors who have been critical of our work with the children in years past. God has an amazing way of changing hearts if his people will continue to offer love for any evil that comes their way. Our church family in Gorlovka decided that no matter what happens we will fight evil with "beauty!" Enjoy the photos of one of our efforts to live that God honoring lifestyle.
